SOUTH CAROLINA experienced a modest earthquake, Sept. 27, 2121 and most people outside
of the state don't realize that this coastal area is considered an earthquake zone. A massive 7.7 quake
near the end of the 19th century devastated Charleston and killed dozens of people. Here's a link to
an earthquake guide put out by the state of South Carolina. Although it pertains mainly to that state,
it is still a useful source of information generally about earthquakes, which can occur anywhere in the United States, not just in California. Be aware.
